Your Own Fabulous Fable

Sunny tales for children aged 6 to 10.

Definition of ‘sunny’

  1. To fill with sunlight.
  2. Figuratively. To illuminate, make radiant, infuse with a sense of happiness.

Navigating this world is an odyssey filled with challenges, a journey that begins from the youngest age. Children are shaped, moulded, influenced by what and who surround them. They need to learn to find their place, to accept themselves and to be accepted as they are. They may face doubts and fears; they have milestones to reach. Whether introverted, quick-tempered, struggling to manage emotions, fearing disappointing or rejection, feeling inadequate, lacking confidence, or having trouble finding their place in the sibling line-up, the challenges they face are numerous.

Yet, children are gifted with a remarkable capacity for wonder, incredible intuition, and an insatiable appetite for stories that transport them into imaginary worlds.

What if you could give your child, your grandchild, or a child who brightens your life, a priceless gift? The gift of a story as unique as they are. I create a customised tale, reflecting their personality, and the challenges they facea philosophical, poetic, or magical parable to enchant them and bring a ‘sunny’ message full of meaning. This story will awaken or rekindle sparks that can light their way. I compose an illustrative image, a unique creative collage, which will feature on the cover of the book.

Optionally, the child can also listen to this unique tale recorded on an audio file, over and over again. I give it shape with my words, and with my voice, I breathe into it a warm vibration.

Give them their own Fabulous Fable.

The creation process of the Fabulous Fable

  1. Initial questionnaire: You will receive a questionnaire to fill out to share the unique traits, tastes, and challenges of the child who will be the hero of the story.
  2. In-depth exchange: We schedule a phone or video call to clarify your responses and enrich the child’s profile.
  3. Meeting with the child: If possible, a conversation with the young protagonist adds depth to the narrative with their own words, allowing me to better grasp their perspective.
  4. Writing the story: Inspired by our conversations, I craft an original adventure within four weeks, weaving a tale that mirrors the child’s essence.
  5. Reading and feedback: You discover the tale in an email, and ideally within a week, you share your feedback and any suggestions for minor adjustments.
  6. Finalisation and illustration: With your initial feedback, I make the final touches and create the illustration for the story’s cover.
  7. Printing and delivery: The story is printed and delivered to your home within three to four weeks after completion.

FAQ (Frequent Asked Questions)

    • What information do I need to provide in the questionnaire about my child? In the questionnaire you will receive, basic information will be requested, such as the child’s first name and age. Beyond these details, I will seek to understand their personality, for example, by exploring the relationships they have with their siblings, the significant experiences they have recently lived, or their favourite activities and games. The goal is to grasp what makes them unique and their challenges in order to create a tailor-made tale that resonates with their experiences and dreams.
    • Can I choose the theme or specific elements to include in the story? Absolutely, your contribution to the theme and specific elements of the story is not only welcome but essential. The initial questionnaire is designed to gather your ideas and preferences, and during our interview, we will have the opportunity to delve deeper into these aspects. You are invited to share any idea that is dear to you, whether it’s your child’s passion, a message you wish to convey, or a family ritual you would like to integrate. These elements will be woven into a coherent and captivating story that speaks directly to your child’s heart.
    • What confidentiality measures are taken with the shared information? From the very beginning, information about your child and your family is treated with absolute discretion. All exchanges, whether written or oral, are secure and will never be shared with third parties. Please note that I may feature a brief passage from the story on my website to illustrate my services. However, this will only be done with your formal consent and, if requested, after modifying the child’s first name to preserve their anonymity.
    • Is it possible to include elements from the child’s real life in the story? The incorporation of real elements from your child’s life is not only possible but also a fundamental aspect of customising the story. The narrative will be woven by integrating events, people, places, and even objects dear to your child to create a storyline that is specific to them. This method aims to anchor the story in the child’s experiences, making the tale all the more meaningful and precious to them.
    • Is the conversation with the child mandatory? An exchange with the child is not a prerequisite for creating their personalised story. However, this interaction can be enriching as it provides the opportunity to integrate their own perspective and bring forth unique details that only children can express. Additionally, it often provides the opportunity to discover facets of their personality or hidden interests that even parents may not suspect. Therefore, I recommend this exchange if circumstances allow.
    • How can I arrange the conversation with the child? We can easily arrange a video conference. This method, which I have frequently implemented successfully, allows for maintaining visual and interactive contact, which is very effective in capturing the child’s personality and inspirations from the comfort of your home.
    • What is the length of the finished story? Each tale is carefully crafted to captivate the attention of young readers, with an ideal length of around 3,000 words. This extent allows for developing a rich and immersive narrative without overwhelming the child, thus fostering a reading experience that is both comprehensive and enjoyable.
    • Can I request modifications after reading the first draft? After receiving the first draft of the story, you are welcome to express your impressions and suggest minor adjustments if necessary. The goal is to refine the narrative to best fit your expectations without altering its structure or essence. I am committed to considering your suggestions for tweaks that will enhance the details without rewriting the story as a whole.
    • What is the deadline for submitting adjustments or feedback? Once the first draft of the story is in your hands, ideally, you have a week to submit any adjustments or feedback. This timeframe ensures smooth progress of the project while allowing you ample time for careful reading and thoughtful reflection on the story composed specifically for your child.
    • How is the cover illustration created, and can I provide input on the design? The cover illustration is designed as a unique work of art that captures the essence of the story and its enchanting spirit. I create a poetic collage by assembling various images, such as photographs and illustrations, reimagining them in a new context to evoke the magic and uniqueness of the story. This artistic process is an integral part of my vision for your story. Therefore, while the final design is carefully crafted to reflect the narrative, it is not editable once presented.
    • What book formats are available, and what type of paper is used for printing? One copy – format: 21 cm × 21 cm square – interior paper: smooth 90 g white – cover lamination: matte – cover printing: colour – interior printing: black and white – binding: stapled – total number of pages: 20. If you have specific preferences regarding the format, type of printing, or paper, I am available to discuss these customised options. Please note that a slight additional cost may be associated with these particular requests.
    • What are the delivery times and how is the book shipped? After finalisation, the story is printed and sent directly to your address. You will receive it by mail within three to five weeks after settling the remaining balance of the total cost (see the payment details below).
    • Can the story be shipped internationally? Absolutely. Corresponding shipping fees will be applied additionally to ensure secure and tracked delivery to your door or the recipient’s.
    • Is there an option to receive the story in digital format? Once the story is printed and delivered to your home, I will also provide you with a digital version of the story for easy reading on your electronic devices.
    • What if I want to order multiple stories for different children? If you wish to create a Fabulous Fable for two or more children, rest assured that each will receive special attention, ensuring that their respective stories are unique and carefully personalised. For each story, the creative process and applied rates remain the same, guaranteeing a tailored experience and equivalent narrative quality for all.
    • Is there a refund or revision policy if I am not satisfied with the final product? Customer satisfaction is my utmost priority. However, due to the personalised nature and time dedicated to each story, I do not offer a refund policy. Before final printing, you will have the opportunity to review and request minor adjustments to ensure the story meets your expectations. My goal is to work collaboratively with you throughout the process to ensure the final product brings you complete satisfaction.
    • Can you explain the audio recording option you offer? The audio recording is an additional personal touch that brings the story to life. I narrate your child’s story, using intonation and rhythm to capture the essence of the tale and ignite the imagination. It’s a magical way to share the story, ideal for times when reading is not possible, such as during car rides or if the child does not yet read (well). This recording is a lasting keepsake they can listen to over and over again.
    • What are the accepted payment methods? You can confirm your order of your Fabulous Fable by bank transfer or by PayPal. Once your project is confirmed, a 30% deposit will be required to begin the development of the story. The remaining balance will be due just before printing the book.
